Campus, Concerts and Kaw-Valley Feeding Haiti: Updates

In announcements, Event Opportunity on March 5, 2010 at 1:06 am

Hello all!  Please forgive the tardiness of this post: I wanted to give the events posted face-time on the blog, and so have been holding off.

1) A friend, classmate and comrade of mine, Arielle, has recently informed me that their ad-hoc campus tabling campaign raised $1,000 dollars by “simply collecting on campus!”  All funds were donated to World Vision.  She asked me to extend a thank you to all of the generous KU students, faculty and staff who so generously donated!  So: THANKS!

2) Also, another friend and comrade of mine, Ben Cohen, recently assisted in the Rock 4 Haiti event that was held last Thursday at the Granada.  They were also able to raise around $1,000 dollars for Haiti relief, with their funds going to the Red Cross.

3) Keep an eye out for future posts about events, a report on the fashion show recently held at Teller’s and further help for the people of Haiti – don’t forget the big event in Eudora THIS WEEKEND.

And: thanks to everyone for all your efforts!

I announced this effort at Liberty Hall during our event, and wanted to remind folks about it.

From their facebook page:

Again, that’s March 6th and 7th at Eudora Elementary School.

You can read a story LJWorld did on their efforts here, and/or contact Becky Sasse @ 785-550-9739 for more info.
